Samantha Evans & Shauna Guinn aka 'The First Ladies of 'Cue' have taken the world of outdoor cooking and slow and low barbecue by storm.
Following their success at the BBC Radio 4 Food and Farming Awards for 'Best Street food' in 2015 they went on to write a best-selling BBQ cookbook, host 3 seasons of their own BBC One cooking show 'Sam and Shauna's Big Cookout' all while running their busy restaurant, Hang Fire Southern Kitchen in Barry.
They were also recently announced as winners of the BBC Food Awards 'Best Street Food' and Observer Food Monthly 'Best Restaurant'.
What started as a Southern Style BBQ street food stall in Cardiff in 2013, Hang Fire Southern Kitchen is now a multi Award Winning restaurant located in the stunning Grade II listed former Pumphouse which forms the heart of Barry's Innovation Quarter, attracting visitors from all over the UK keen to sample their authentic dishes.
Their vision: To run a small restaurant that relies solely on fresh, ethical produce, far away from the congested chain-led culinary landscape, and to create food with soul and passion.
The restaurant offers Louisiana soul food classics, award-winning US barbecue and wood fired steaks on Wales' first custom built Argentinian Parrilla grill. Not forgetting authentic southern appetisers and desserts - all washed down with their own brewed beers and NOLA inspired cocktails.
