About

Autumn Events at Dyffryn Gardens

Autumn walk

Look out for bursts of colour as autumn arrives on this self-guided walk.

  • BOOKING NOT NEEDED
  • FREE EVENT (ADMISSION APPLIES)

A self- guided autumn walk which will take in all the colours of autumn and the changes in nature that a new season brings.

As autumn progresses, what you’ll see on your walk will change depending on how the weather has been and when in the season you come - keep your trail leaflet and come back a few times during the September, October and into early November to see how the gardens change as the year wends its way to a close.

You'll also find out a bit about the science of autumn - why the leaves turn the colour they do and what effect climate change is having on this process.

Adventure Cinema at Dyffryn Gardens

We are pleased to be welcoming back Adventure Cinema after a wonderful weekend of events last year.

  • BOOKING ESSENTIAL

This year you can expect more great entertainment in the beautiful surroundings of the Dyffryn South Lawns with Adventure Cinema bringing firm favourites, Grease, Dirty Dancing and as well as the more recent Top Gun: Maverick.

Friday 8: Dirty Dancing (12) Saturday 9: Top Gun: Maverick (12) Sunday 10: Grease (PG)

Not only is it an opportunity to watch a great movie but also to see the gardens after usual opening hours and experience the beauty of Dyffryn on a late-summer evening.

Our café will also stay open late so you can either bring a lovely picnic or purchase food and hot and cold, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages when you get here. Either way we encourage you to bring a picnic blanket or some garden chairs and wrap up warm or bring extra blankets so you're comfy and cosy for the film’s duration.

Doors open at 6.45pm and the film begins at 8.15pm. Tickets need to be purchased through Adventure Cinema in advance.

This event is fully accessible. We ask that no smoking, no vaping, no glassware, no BBQs are brought into or used in the gardens.

Chris will show you the seasonal highlights of the gardens and include some history - the vision of Thomas Mawson and the success of his collaboration with the Cory family and how we’re continuing their legacy of reverence for tradition mixed with bold experimentation in our plans for the future of Dyffryn.

There will also be lots of tips and inspiration for you to take home and apply to your own gardens as well as time to ask questions.
