Take part in a photomarathon in Barry this summer! You can either do 6 photos in 6 hours on Sunday, or 4 photos in 2 hours on other days.

Fire your creativity, explore Barry, meet people with the same interest and challenge your photography skills! Fun for the whole family or a group of friends. You can compete with your friends or take part as a team, in which case only one of you needs to book a ticket.

What is a photomarathon? It’s a test of creativity, photography skills, endurance, and sense of humour! It is a competitive event with prizes, and takes place over a set period of time. The PhotoBARRYthon format on Sunday 7th August is 6 topics, 6 photos, 6 hours. We encourage you to explore the whole of Barry and find some great shots!

On Monday to Friday the format is 4 topics, 4 photos, 2 hours. For a shorter event we have focused the topics in different areas of Barry on different days:

8th Monday: Barry Island

9th Tuesday: Town Centre/Central Park

10th Wednesday: Goodsheds/ Waterfront

11th Thursday: Victoria Park/ Cadoxton

12th Friday: Porthkerry Country Park

You can book for all of these events or however many you want. If you do book more than one, you only need to register once at the Memo for your first event.

There are many rules to a photomarathon, but crucially you must have one photo per topic and they must be in topic order on your phone or camera, with no extra photos. The topics will be released on the day at published locations and on social media (more info will follow!)
