The Vale Wand-erer Treasure Hunt

Every Wizard needs a wand!

Potter was chosen by his wand at Olivander's shop in Diagon Alley during the film Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. His wand was unique, made of holly wood with a phoenix feather at its core. Potter took his wand everywhere whilst at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

And so have we!

We have taken a replica of Harry’s Wand to 10 amazing coast and country places around the Vale of Glamorgan, and taken a photo of it in each location.

All you need to do is go for a wand-er by car, bike or bus it to find out where we went!
‍

Find, and visit, all 10 locations (between 18-26 Feb 2023) to complete our online quiz for your chance to win the replica wand used in the photos.

Plus you can also win a 2 day trip to London including a Family Studio Tour at Harry Potter World and overnight hotel stay including breakfast for a family of four

How do you take part?

You will need a ‘Treasure Hunt Pack’ to take part and you can download your pack here

Packs go live at 9am on Saturday 18th Feb 2023

Please note packs will not be available after 5pm on Sunday 26th Feb 2023.

What are the rules?

Take your time! It’s a competition, not a race. You can complete the hunt whenever you like from the 18-26 Feb 2023.

If you wish to enter the competition to win Potter Prizes you must complete the online quiz (by 4 March).

The quiz can only be completed with all the answers gathered from the 10 trip locations.

Families that complete the online quiz are entered into a prize draw to win the replica wand we used in the photos, plus a 2 day trip to London for a family Studio Tour at Harry Potter World with overnight hotel stay (family room) and breakfast.

You can travel to the locations by car, rail, bus, bike, scooter - whichever is best for you. You can plan your route by public transport here
