Getting here - Plan your journey
Car Take the M4 and exit at junctions 33, 34 or 35, depending on which part of the county you would like to visit. If visiting Barry or Penarth from the East, junction 33 is the quickest route. If you’re visiting the Western Vale; Ogmore by Sea or Dunraven take junction 34.
Parking is available at any of the Vales' coastal car parks from 8am - 11pm daily and costs range from £1 for an hour up to £3 per day during the winter months and £6 per day during peak season. Seasonal permits are available for 6 or 12 months. Some popular destinations now have resident parking permit schemes in place.
Blue Badge Holders. Our car parks are currently free to Blue Badge Holders. However visitors to car parks that operate the new ANPR system e.g Rivermouth (Ogmore), need to ring the call centre on 01446 700111 to register one registration number for access to the car park. Registration is only required one time unless circumstances change.
Seasonal Permits
Regular visitors to our coastal car parks may prefer to purchase a seasonal permit at a cost of £30 for 6 months or £50 for the year. Full details can be found here .

Coach National Express provides a UK wide network of express bus services, and there are local bus services which will take you to every part of the Vale.

AeroPlane Cardiff Airport is in the Vale of Glamorgan, just west of Barry. From the airport there are connections by taxi or by shuttle bus to the train station at nearby Rhoose.
Sea There are ferry services from Ireland to Wales, operated by Irish Ferries and Stena Line .
Train Catch a train to the Vale via Bridgend (if coming from the west) or Cardiff Central (if coming from elsewhere). Find timetables and prices at National Rail .
