A short walk up the hill from the esplanade, and you'll find a charming mix of Victorian, Edwardian and modern architecture, providing homes to a very satisfying blend of shops, including the Victorian arcade. Various tasty eateries and brasseries beckon you to dine or 'whet your whistle'. You'll notice too, the town's iconic, modern, yet Victorian-styled clock, complimenting the surrounding architecture from its place in the centre of the town roundabout.
After a little gift shopping and a bite to eat, take a leisurely stroll in the pretty and tranquil surroundings of Windsor Gardens or Alexandra Park to round off your day, and see the flowers and sculpted, topiary trees. You could even take in a sunset,with those memorable views out over the Bristol Channel along the Cliff-Top Walk.

Cosmeston Country Park is a wonderful visit for individuals, couples and families alike. Enjoy the lakes, grassy walks, fabulous picnic and children's play areas, and the more secluded reedbed boardwalks, taking in the abundant local and visiting water birds and wildlife.
Cosmeston Medieval Village will transport you back in time to circa 1350 with guided tours, discovering how people lived and worked here, based on archaeological finds made there in the 1980s while the park was developed.
Lavernock Point is a nature reserve with clifftop and meadow walking, and home to the elusive Purple Hairstreak butterfly, and several orchids such as Bee, Spotted, Early Purple and Twayblade. Interestingly, the clifftops here also hide an old second world war defence battery, now a listed ancient monument.
