About

Amelia Trust Farm

Our unique care Farm is an outdoor visitor attraction for families, and a charity supporting disadvantaged and vulnerable people across South Wales. The Farm is the perfect size to spend a morning or afternoon. Open every day except Christmas day, we encourage our visitors to enjoy being in the fresh air all year round! What to Expect With plenty of open space and an outdoor playground, there are lots of opportunities for little ones to let off steam. As well as watching our animals, you can explore our gorgeous woodland walks, spot native wildlife, discover our pond, and find our bird hide. Bring a picnic with you to enjoy on one of the picnic benches dotted around our grounds and woodland. Our Animals We've got all sorts of animals at the Farm, from donkeys and degus, to goats and guinea pigs! You’ll find our larger animals in our outdoor paddocks, including our donkeys, ponies, goats, sheep, and alpacas. In the Small Animal Centre, you’ll see our guinea pigs, rabbits, birds, degus, and ferrets. Most of our animals are rescue animals, and so for the health and safety of both our animals and visitors, unfortunately, you are not able to feed or stroke the animals. Getting the Most Out of Your Visit We are in the countryside and the paths can be muddy – especially when it’s been raining. Pack your wellies/boots and waterproofs to ensure you can have fun at the Farm, whatever the weather!
Keep an eye on our social media pages and websites for information about special events and for regular updates on our lovely animals. How to Get Here and Parking Situated off Five Mile Lane in Barry, we are very close to Cardiff, Bridgend, and Llantrisant. Parking is free and we have ample space for visitors. Accessibility Most of the Farm is flat and is accessible for pushchairs and wheelchairs, including the Gnome and Fairy Trail in the woodland. However, when it has been raining, the ground can get very muddy, and this can make some areas difficult to navigate. Baby changing facilities and a disabled toilet can be found opposite reception. Our Charity We support disadvantaged and vulnerable young people across South Wales who struggle in mainstream education. During term time, we run an alternative education provision called the GROW programme which helps to teach young people essential skills at a critical time in their lives. Young people on the GROW programme take part in a variety of activities including woodwork, animal care, music, cooking, and health and wellbeing. All money from ticket sales goes back into our charity to help us support young people and keep the Farm open for everyone to enjoy. Amelia Trust Farm is a special place for lots of people and is a truly unique visitor attraction in the Vale.
